Sum Hing in Algona

My daughter and I went for lunch and the water tasted horrible. Even made my soda taste weird. We were seated in the booth right by the big window and it smelled like cat piss the whole time. No pun intended at all but seriously cat piss is what it smelled like. I know what cat piss smells like and it drives me crazy when I smell it.

Now I love Chinese food and this place is the bomb always fresh and tasty, never had any problems with nothing here eat there enough they get to know ur name

Best food and egg rolls

If you have time to wait, Sum Hing is a well made treat, good for anything from lunch to dates. Slower service is redeemed by food.

Waited for 20 minutes and didn't even get asked what I wanted to drink. The waitress tried handing me someone elses food.

For them just opening it wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible. My family of 3 went and their beef lo mein, which is what my son chose, was probably my personal favorite. The house stir fry is decent. Our waitress did okay. A little more interaction would have been nice, but she didn't abandon us by any means. It is a lot of food on your plate, so be prepared for that. I think as they go on they will get into their groove and do just fine!

Their Peanut Chicken is simply amazing

For a first day open of new owners we ordered some food it took 45 minutes and we didn't even get fortune cookies or any sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls the food wasn't that great I don't even think they use peanut oil. Don't waste your money the food is not worth it. They failed are family with food with little flavor.

Literally the BEST Chinese food I have ever tasted! The owners are super nice and the food comes fairly fast and you get huge portions! It's decently priced and tastes AMAZING. I recommend the crab rangoons, egg rolls, and cashew chicken.

Food is very good! If you haven't eaten here, you should. That is if you like Chinese.

We waited 15 minutes to get seeded and there was many clean tables and people walking around doing nothing but a waitress asked us if we are waiting to get seated and then went on a smoke break instead of seating us, so we left. Really missing pinky right now!!

Wow! Delicious sauces on every entree we tried — and the owners are such kind people! They were happy to let us try extra food we didn’t even order to see more of the flavor they bring to their dishes. We tried the sesame chicken, orange chicken, fried pot stickers (with savory sauce), chicken wings, shrimp with lobster sauce & they were all great choices. Wonderful experience — we will be back!

The food is outstanding. Been there twice and both time the food was delicious.

If I could put 0 stars I would. The owner knows me and knows my order, yet when I walk in there and ask how much it is for 2 meals as I want them, she gives me the price and I payed. I told her no veggies when I asked for the price and said it again when she repeated my order to me. I came back to get my food and got home to find food with veggies in them, and the wrong meat in the one meal!!! I called and told her I said no veggies and she told me I was wrong, and that I hadn't said that I didn't want vegetables. Not going back there ever again.

Amount of food for price is great. Quality is amazing as well.

i worked there and in the kitchen it was filthy and they had black mold in the sinks and the shrimp was laid out over night in cardboard boxes open so it was hazardous and the floor was disgusting and no one ever washed their hands and the cook drank alot while cooking id never reccomend this place to anyone due to those reasons . if health inspector would come in they would be shut down immediately

Tonight we tried their food for the first time. It was AMAZING! Broccoli and Beef was delicious and the beef was cooked perfectly. We will be back again.

Pretty average compared to all Chinese restaurants, but really good for a small town in the Midwest. Six of us slowed down service. Crab Rangoon were tasty.

Really, really good price for what you're getting, good service, great food. Probably easily the best chinese place in this part of the state, food quality and service wise. The restaurant has good atmosphere, too

Good food but slow lunch service

Have been back recently. The shrimp was breaded and not crispy like before and never got the broccoli that is supposed to come with it. :( That's why I usually order it.
